Meet the Woman Behind the Words
Delphine H. Scott is the founder of Word It Perfectly — a Columbia, SC-based digital content and document services company built on a simple belief: that every person, business, and ministry deserves to be represented with clarity, excellence, and grace.
Delphine brings a rare combination of credentials to every project she touches. She holds a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in English and spent 41 years in the education profession — serving as an English Teacher, Gifted and Talented Teacher and Coordinator, Adult Education English Teacher, College English Professor, Assistant Principal, Principal, and Human Resources Coordinator. Simply put, language is not just her profession — it has been her life's work.
After retiring from education in 2020, Delphine channeled decades of expertise into entrepreneurship. She had previously launched and managed an online teacher certification consulting business, and she understood firsthand what it takes for small operations to present themselves professionally in a digital world. Word It Perfectly was born from that understanding — and from a calling to serve others well.
Faith and community are at the heart of everything Delphine does. For over 12 years, she has served as the social media manager, photographer, videographer, and website administrator for St. Peter AME Church, a small rural church in North, SC. Her work expanded beyond her local congregation when the Presiding Elder appointed her as District Website Developer — a role in which she built and managed a comprehensive website serving 23 churches across the Midlands. That experience gave her a deep appreciation for the unique communication needs of small, rural ministries, and it remains a driving force behind Word It Perfectly's mission today.
Outside of her work, Delphine is a proud mother of twin sons, grandmother of four, and great-grandmother of two. She finds joy in music, writing, photography, genealogy, lighthouses, and — perhaps not surprisingly — word games, puns, and the art of a well-placed idiom. She is also, by her own admission, someone who proofreads for fun.
Delphine lives by the words of Matthew 7:12: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." That golden rule isn't just a personal motto — it's the standard by which every client project at Word It Perfectly is measured.
